Dear
Faithful Prayer Partners,
Dr. Henry Blackaby writes that June brought key challenges to his family and to BMI. June was a busy month. In addition to teaching at the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary with Richard, he spoke at a pastor’s conference in Louisiana and in Nashville at conference entitled, “Conversations with Fathers of the Faith.” The month ended with the marriage of grandson, Daniel’s wedding. Please pray for Dr. Henry and BMI during July and August. On July 19, Henry and Marilyn’s daughter, Carrie and her family will be returning to the states for a one year furlough. Carrie and Wendell are missionaries in Germany. Henry and Richard are speaking at The Cove at the end of the July and August will be a very challenging month.
Richard and Lisa deeply appreciate your prayers for them and their family during June. Richard taught leaders from Campus Crusade from all over Europe in a conference in Latvia. He also spoke at a marketplace luncheon in Columbia, SC which was well received. He attended the funeral of a friend, Joe Cooper, who had served the Lord faithfully for many years at his church Taylors First Baptist. Richard would appreciate your prayers for his widow, Sarah Cooper. Richard also taught a class with his dad at the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary in Cochrane where he was the president for 13 years. It was great to see the way the Lord is continuing to work under the leadership of Rob Blackaby. Richard also spoke at a large men's conference at Centre Street Church in Calgary, Canada.
Richard and Lisa also saw God answer some significant prayers in their family as well. Their son Daniel was married on June 26th to Sarah Sutherland and they plan to move to San Francisco to begin seminary in August. For those of you who know some of Daniel's story, you know this was a special time of celebration. Daniel and Mike Blackaby also turned in the manuscript for their first book entitled, When Worlds Collide, which is written for young people and should be coming out at year's end. Mike answered a call to First Baptist Jonesboro as their minister to college and singles.
Richard would appreciate your prayers in July as well. Hopefully things will slow down a little in July and August so Richard can catch his breath before a very busy Fall. Richard will be speaking at a marketplace conference at a conference center north of Toronto, Canada. He will also be teaching on the Fruit of the Spirit with his dad at The Cove. He and his father will also be doing some videotaping for the new leadership network that will be coming online in August. Richard also hopes to be able to get some writing completed this summer. Please pray for BMI as it seeks to develop its new leadership network that will provide help to church and business leaders and leaders in the home. We still need additional funding to be able to provide all the resources needed. Pray about joining the Blackabys in Israel next March as well!"
Tom and Kim thank you for your prayers for their family. Tom says that he has been told many times by people that they pray for the Blackabys every day, and they truly appreciate it. Tom and Lisa’s oldest child graduated from high school this year and is heading to college in the fall. Everything has gone well for Erin as she wraps up her high school final exams and prepares for the fall. She was accepted by Simon Fraser University, and has been able to get some scholarships based on her high grade point average that will help with tuition in the fall. Kim and Tom are preparing for several speaking engagements at the end of the summer and into the fall which looks quite busy for them. Please pray regarding some new developments in the area of Family Ministry where Tom may be partnering with Jeff Slaughter (musician for LIfeWay's VBS material) to lead family worship events using his skills as a singer/musician and Tom’s teaching on the Family God Uses. The summer is often a time to spend with family and recharge for a busy fall, please pray the BMI staff all have quality time with their families and are refreshed to head into all the ministry events that are lined up in the coming year.

Experiencing God Day by Day Military Version
BMI continues to distribute our Military Day by Day devotional book. Just last week five cases were shipped to an Afghanistan military hospital. Approximately 10,000 were to be delivered last week to our troops. Please continue to pray that these books will change lives as people read them.
BMI is so grateful for those of you who partner with us in this effort. Please pray that many more will feel led to contribute to this ministry.
