It is my great privilege to join Blackaby Ministries International to serve as its second president. It is also a wonderful blessing to work closely with my father, Henry Blackaby, who founded BMI and who will continue to serve as the Founder and President Emeritus. I have joked with him that you must be so careful how you treat your children because they could grow up to become the president of your ministry!

God has indeed blessed me beyond anything I could have imagined. From my earliest memories I was taught to “experience God.” I learned that God was a Person who sought a personal, interactive relationship with me. I also learned that when I walked closely with God, anything was possible! This led me to something of a “life verse” in Ephesians 3:20. “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly beyond anything we could imagine according to the power that works within us.”

I saw this truth lived out as I was a pastor in Winnipeg Canada. I also witnessed this truth daily as I served as the president of the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary in Cochrane, Alberta, Canada for thirteen years. I am also seeing this truth as I travel across North America and the world teaching and preaching and meeting wonderful Christians and church leaders. For those who have come to know God in an experiential way, miracles are occurring and God’s kingdom is expanding.

The purpose of BMI is to help people experience God. God is giving us wonderful opportunities to help His people. We regularly counsel Christian CEOs of corporate America. BMI has a ministry to the United Nations. We speak to numerous denominations around the world. Everywhere we go we are seeing God reviving His people and preparing them to be an instrument of His mighty activity. I would certainly covet your prayers as I seek to work alongside my father and other wonderful Christian men and women at BMI in order to help people from around the world experience God.

I will be periodically posting entries into this blog as a way to share with you what God is saying to me and what I am seeing of God’s activity around the world. I would be honored to have you pray for me, my parents and BMI. God is at work! Are you prepared to join Him in His activity?
